About Us
Since 2004
Worldwide Reptile Logistics is a family run business founded by Steve and Debra Sykes. The company is built on decades of experience, a deep passion for reptiles, and a long history of serving the global herpetoculture community.
A Lifetime of Experience in Herpetology
Steve has been a reptile enthusiast for more than 45 years. He began keeping reptiles at the age of four and spent his early years caring for a wide variety of reptiles and amphibians. In 1997, he began breeding leopard geckos and eventually focused his collection on selectively breeding morphs. Over time he added many other species to the collection.
Steve also has a professional and academic background in herpetology and field biology. He studied ecology and zoology at Rutgers University in New Jersey. After graduating, he worked as an environmental consultant with endangered reptiles and amphibians in the Northeast at Herpetological Associates, Inc. In 2000, Steve moved to California to attend graduate school at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where his research focused on herpetology and ecology. His graduate work centered on the endangered California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense). These experiences strengthened his scientific understanding of reptile and amphibian biology, taxonomy, and ecology. This academic foundation, combined with decades of hands on experience, plays a major role in the expertise he brings to every export.
Building a World Recognized Company
Steve met Debra in 2001, and they married in 2005. Together, they built Geckos Etc. Herpetoculture into an internationally recognized company known for producing healthy, high quality reptiles. Since its founding in 2002, Geckos Etc. has successfully bred many species, including:
• Leopard geckos
• Western hognose snakes
• Fat tailed geckos
• Knob tailed geckos
• Kingsnakes, corn snakes, and rat snakes
• Blue tongue skinks
• Newts and other amphibians
Their commitment to quality and professionalism has earned them a strong reputation among reptile keepers around the world.
More Than Twenty Years of Export Expertise
Steve began exporting captive bred reptiles in 2004. Since then, he has successfully exported thousands of shipments of reptiles and amphibians to customers around the world. At first Steve only exported animals from their own collection, but before long, international customers were asking him to add animals to their exports that they had purchased from other breeders. This led to the creation of consolidation export services.
Over the years, Steve has earned a reputation for reliability, honesty, and careful attention to detail. He has developed proven methods for packing reptiles safely in all weather conditions and for preparing accurate documentation to ensure smooth inspections and exports. Hundreds of U.S. breeders and international reptile enthusiasts around the world have trusted him with their animals.
A Global Network
Through decades in the industry, Steve has built strong connections throughout the worldwide reptile community. He has attended reptile shows and reptile shops across the United States, Japan, Germany, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand, which has helped strengthen relationships and maintain a global perspective on the reptile industry.
A New Name with Long Standing Experience
Although the name Worldwide Reptile Logistics and this website are new as of 2026, our export services are not. We have been exporting reptiles for more than twenty years through Geckos Etc. Herpetoculture, both for our own animals and for breeders throughout the United States.
We look forward to assisting you with your next reptile export. Please contact us with any questions or to discuss your specific needs.
